Palworld pulls me into a loop of exploration, combat, and collection. I roam the huge map, fight wild Pals, weaken them, and capture them with Pal Spheres. Most Pals are simple enough to find. Quivern is not. After many wasted spheres and a few rough attempts, I worked out a reliable method. I now capture Quivern on most runs.

Why Quivern Is Worth My Time
Quivern is not just a decorative trophy. This Dragon-type Pal is an excellent base worker. I use it for several tasks around my settlement. It has Transporting Lv 3, which lets me move heavy stacks of items quickly. It also has Mining Lv 2, Gathering Lv 2, and Handiwork Lv 1. Those levels mean Quivern helps me break stone, harvest crops, and craft basic items without needing a full team of specialists.
| Work Suitability | Level | How I Use It |
|---|---|---|
| Transporting | 3 | Moving items around my base |
| Mining | 2 | Breaking stone and ore nodes |
| Gathering | 2 | Harvesting crops |
| Handiwork | 1 | Building and crafting |
Quivern is also useful for transportation. Once captured, it gives me a powerful option for moving around the map and managing base logistics. But first I have to reach it.
Where I Found Quivern
Quivern does not roam freely across the normal map. I only found it inside The Sealed Realm of the Winged Tyrant. This is a boss dungeon. The nearest Fast Travel Point made the journey much shorter. I unlocked that point early, then traveled back whenever I needed another attempt. Inside the realm, Quivern waits as a boss-level encounter. I did not have to search random areas or hope for a lucky spawn.
The Sealed Realm is home to multiple boss-level Pals. I always entered with healing items, food, and a full party. That saved me from getting stuck far from my base.

Preparing for the Fight
Quivern is a Dragon Element Pal. Dragon-type Pals are weak to Ice. I learned this the hard way. My first attempt used neutral attacks, and the fight dragged on far too long. Now I bring Ice-type Pals with strong Ice active skills.
Here is what I prepare before entering the dungeon:
-
At least two or three Ice-type Pals.
-
High-tier Pal Spheres such as Hyper Spheres or better.
-
Healing items and food buffs.
-
A fast mount for dodging, if possible.
-
The nearest Fast Travel Point unlocked.
High-tier spheres matter a lot. Low-level spheres have a poor chance against boss-level Pals like Quivern. I once brought basic spheres and wasted almost all of them. Now I never enter without Hyper Spheres or higher. In 2026, I also keep some Legendary Spheres in reserve for exactly this type of fight.
Battle Strategy and Capture Process
I start the battle by sending out an Ice Pal. Then I keep moving. Quivern is fast and attacks in wide arcs. Standing still is a quick way to lose a teammate.
I switch Pals whenever one gets low. That keeps the damage going. My goal is sustained pressure, not a quick burst. When Quivern begins to stumble and slow down, it is close to being captured. I stop attacking immediately. Then I throw a high-tier Pal Sphere.
Sometimes the sphere misses. Quivern can move at the last second. I bring extra spheres because misses happen. If it breaks free, I weaken it again and throw another sphere. The capture chance rises when the target is low on health, and raw Ice damage is usually enough to get there.
One trick that helped me is keeping one Pal in reserve. If my first Pal falls, I still have a fighter ready. This prevents a messy retreat. Boss fights can get chaotic, so I do not rely on one strong Pal alone.
Quick Reference
| Detail | My Choice |
|---|---|
| Quivern element | Dragon |
| Weakness | Ice |
| Location | Sealed Realm of the Winged Tyrant |
| Best strategy | Ice damage and constant movement |
| Sphere type | High-tier or better |
Final Thoughts
Quivern became one of my favorite base Pals after I caught it. It transports supplies quickly and helps with mining, gathering, and crafting. The dungeon trip is challenging, but it is not impossible. I bring Ice-types, stay mobile, use high-tier spheres, and target the Sealed Realm. With those steps, Quivern goes from frustrating to very manageable.
